5-Day Residencey program

Duo program: process in focus

This program connects two participants from creative disciplines that share non-obvious similarities in their creative processes. It offers them the opportunity to explore their own practices while engaging with and learning from another creative professional. Through collaboration and reflection, guided by the program curator, participants will gain valuable insights into both their own work and their partner’s methodologies.

Open call for following fields:

  • Writer / Music producer

  • Digital app designer / Architect

  • Ceramist / Knitter

  • Software engineer / Sound engineer

Other professionals will also be welcomed if there is strong interest.

Rough Structure for the 5-Day Residency

Each day will include some structured activities and some flexible time for participants to organize themselves as they see fit.

The outline below serves as a guiding framework and should remain flexible, adapting to the interests and flow of the participants. The format is designed to support the overarching goals, but it is in no way fixed.

Day 1

Residents describe the tools, processes, routines, limitations, and sources of inspiration they use in their field.

We will attempt to visually and textually map all shared information.

Time will be allocated for discussion and reflection on these observations.

Day 2

Identify Commonalities: Residents discuss and identify similarities and shared aspects of their tools and processes.

Identify Differences: Residents highlight unique traits and differences. All information will be visualized and documented to illustrate these findings.

Day 3

What I’m Learning: Each resident reflects on insights or techniques they could adopt from another field.

What I Could Teach: Residents consider what knowledge or skills from their own discipline they can share.

Questions & Curiosities: Residents list questions or topics they are eager to explore further, using a shared board (physical or digital).

We can think of small cross-disciplinary experiments or adaptations based on these insights.

Day 4

Residents prepare a short workshop or demonstration that showcases an essential aspect of their work.

As a bonus, pairs of residents could co-create or co-produce a simple project, encouraging practical collaboration between their fields.

Day 5

Residents reflect on how shifting perspectives might influence their future practice.

We will develop a visual or written summary—such as a report, infographic, or booklet—that captures key insights and potential applications.
